Barry roach- works for the mayor barry and had to be released because it aroused suspicion since he did not work and was paid. Ben bradlee- post executive editor for the main character. Bernice joseph- manna homeowner who refused to sell her home for a big profit. Billy- works with the church for jim and was the answer to his prayers and set up his own group recovering meetings. Carrie- a strawberry with whom he gets high. Claude artis- demolition expert for jim"s newfound church. Champagne- a streetwalker for the main character (trade sex for drugs) Diamond jimmy- close friend of jim for some time was a biker and drug addict and went back to drugs after sometime on s street and had to be let go.
