He started a propaganda that art would replace the church. Turned russia into the most artistically literate place in the world. Stalin started building him a theater and wanted him to do social realism. Meyerhold didn"t want to, so stalin had the theater destroyed. Meyerhold did a silly play that insulted stalin.
