Axon: branch of a neuron usually responsible for transmitting info. to other neurons. Gila: hold neurons in place, form tight connec. s w/ blood vessels in nervous system & prevent many toxins from entering brain, blood-brain barrier, formation of myelin on some axons. One type forms myelin in brain & spinal cord. Second type forms myelin in rest of nervous system.
