Unity is honed on similar livelihood and shared colonial experience. No common religion, language, philosophy or political system ever united this region. Major river systems include the congo, niger, nile and zambezi. Rain forest like the iturbi in congo basin rains all year and has hot humid temps. Commercial logging and clearing has degraded west and south fringes of the rain forest.
