For analytical purposes, we split culture in to 3 traits (anthropologist leslie white) Specific traits within each subsystem of culture can be labeled mentifarts, artifacts, or sociofacts. In reality, the traits are integrated, each acting on the others and being affected by others. Classification of the traits can be arbitrary; overlapping traits (e. g. clothing as artifacts, but can also be a sociofact showing the social class of the person wearing) Changes in the ideas that a society holds may affect the sociological and technological systems just as changes in technology force adjustments in the social system (e. g. agricultural russia soviet union modern day russia) Consists of ideas, beliefs, and knowledge of a culture and of the ways in which these things are expressed in speech or other forms of communication. Mythologies and theologies, legend, language, literature, philosophy, ethical systems, and folk wisdom make up this category.
