Teams are the things that do great things in the workplace. More creative and better decisions, more satisfied, more feedback . Not team nor will they reach their goals. Task based roles- the roles taken when trying to achieve the goal. Can include opinion seeker, information giver, energizer, recorder, Maintenance/ group building- roles that are taken to help build the group connection. Individual roles- more focused on themselves than group ideals. Aggressor (dominate conversation) playboy (off task and want to do other things), help seeker (sympathy) Orientation- group needs to become a team before the task is started. Needs to have a group goal that meets the individual goals. Conflict-all groups have conflict and conflicts are typically good. We learn more about each other , attitudes, opinions, and weaknesses. What you do with conflict is most important. Emergence- group moves past conflict and ends stronger than before. Groups question each other and provide checks and balances.
