Human geography: how changes in landscape affect humans and how change in humans affect each other. Scientific method: come up with hypothesis and try to disprove it. Axis that earth rotates on is 23. 5 degrees. Great circle: any slice that cuts the sphere into 2 equal parts. Shortest route between 2 locations on a sphere. Equator is the only line of latitude that makes a great circle. Line that does not cut into 2 equal parts is a small circle. Each degree can be broken up into 60 seconds. Each line of longitude starts at one pole and ends at the other pole. 180 degrees of latitude: 90 to north and 90 to south. Mercator projection: flat surface map of the earth. Large scale maps refer to detailed maps 1:5000.
