The way that materials react to changing conditions affects the way that they will be used in design and in application. By understanding the results produced in this experiment we can predict the way that materials will behave under changing temperatures. In this experiment, we used the rockwell hardness test and the charpy impact test to determine the hardness and toughness of 1040 steel and 2024 aluminum.
