When items are close, they become one visual unit = easier to read. Every item should have a visual connection with another item on the page. Center alignment in general is really really bad bc there s not visual anchor, weakens alignment. Repeat some aspect of the deign throughout entire piece. Unifies and strengthens piece by tying together separate parts. Purpose is to organize, and unify and add visual. If two items are not exactly the same, make them different. For contrast to be effective, it must be strong. Purpose is to organize and add visual interest.
