Document Summary

Ability to set and achieve goals is key to success. Learn from experience and apply it to future (reflection) (self-regulated learning, metacognition) We think things are going to take less time than it actually will take. We fail to think about the other things that are going on in life. We fail to anticipate how quickly we will recover from negative outcomes: people structure goals poorly, set too many goals. 2. set goals that conflict with each other: problems with goal definitions, goal is not specific enough ex. If you don"t know where you"re going you might not get there, also to know how and where to focus your energy. Forecasting your mood after a future action, bad because you don"t know what kind of mood you will be in at that point of time. Gives good feedback to what is working and not working and its good motivation to keep on goals, especially long term goals.
