In most developed parts of the world, international relations no longer revolve around military conflict, but it still plays a large role in the developing world. Conflict and struggle in the developing world now has greater impact because of decolonization post world war ii. Imperialism has occurred throughout history; it is not unique to recent history. Traditional societies have generally been more likely to come under the influence of modern societies. Political modernization is creating a single, secular national authority, creating separate but subordinate structures to carry out its functions and finally increasing political participation throughout society. Political instability occurs when participation in politics becomes too much for institutions to handle. Nationalism = a people"s common awareness of belonging together. It has taken on many different forms i. e. self-determination, political liberalism, fascism. Imperialism has caused nationalism and modernization in traditional societies. Would lead to decline of colonialism and education was also involved.
