Document Summary

The nervous system is one of the systems that make up the body. Its function is to coordinate; therefore, it can also be called a nervous coordination system. The nervous system is responsible for capturing the stimuli through the receptors, transporting the information, processing it, preparing the most appropriate response possible and transporting this response to the effectors (organs that will be responsible for carrying it out). This movement does not have to be visible to our eyes (for example, the movement of the hand when greeting), but can also be used on bones or internal organs. The structural unit of the nervous system is the neuron. These neurons have to be communicated or connected to each other to be able to transmit the nerve impulse, they are connected by synapses. The synapse is the process by which the nerve impulse passes from the end of one neuron to the beginning of another.
