I agree that we may be afraid to be alone but i don"t think that our ability to pay attention to others suffers because we struggle to pay attention to our own self. When i am bored i tend to watch netflix, television, or play games on my phone. Ink master, shark tank, big brother, and practically anything on the food network when i am bored at home. Otherwise i will play fallout shelter or diner dash on my phone when i am laying in bed, trying to sleep or just when i am bored. My boredom does not correlate with my ability to pay attention to myself or others just because i play on electronics when i am bored. I do not use my phone when i am at a stop light or anything, and i have had my fair share of awkward elevator rides because my phone does not work in the elevator.
