Acoustic - deficit = red flag ems. Sight impaired - may not have glasses/contacts in. Can"t think of any reason poss. head trauma. Patients always have eyes closed, seated in anatomical position. C1, c2: top of the head; run hand over top of head. L1, l2: lateral hip, come in and wrap around to inner thigh; greater trochanter, wrap to middle of mid thigh. L3: midpoint of it band, wrap around to inner portion of thigh (mcl) L4: medial lower leg and arch of foot. S1: bottom of foot to posterior lower leg (achilles", gastroc, soleus) Start on normal side, set base for feel; move to suspected side. C1 and c2: neck flexion, neck extension. Flexion: stabilize on upper back between scapula, put other hand on forehead (c grip) ask to bring chin to chest, meet resistance. Extension: stabilize upper chest toward shoulder or center of chest, instruct pt to bring head back while providing resistance to back of head.
