Self concept- the sum total of an individual"s beliefs about his or her own personal. Looking glass self- how other people see you will affect how you see yourself. Self schema- a belief people hold about themselves that guides the processing of self relevant info. Affective forecasting- the process of predicting how one would feel in response to future emotional events. Self perception theory- the theory that when internal cues are difficult to interpret, people gain self insight by observing their own behavior. When internal; cues are difficult to interpret people gain insight by observing their own behavior. But only in absence of compelling situational pressure like reward or punishment. Facial feedback hypothesis- the hypothesis that changes in facial expression can lead to corresponding changes in emotion; the emotions we express on our face can lead to changes in experiences emotions; affects emotion through self perception.
