He tends to isolate himself from other children, does not want to be touched, and he was content with entertaining himself for hours on end. At age 5 he had motor skills of a 2 - 3 year old. He had been in 3 different states before receiving an appropriate education, which means he was 5 years old before he began to benefit from special education because he disabilities were not formally diagnosed until he started kindergarten. Universal design- teachers design instructional materials and activities to make the content accessible to all students. Special education- specially designed instruction at no cost to a child"s parents that meets a child"s unique needs in school. It consists of related services- and supplementary aids and services. Gender of students- 2/3 of the students are male and 1/3 female. Labeling can lead educators to make biased decisions about a students strengths and needs.
