Transitional kindergarten: a kindergarten designed to serve children who may be old enough to go to rst grade but are not quite ready to handle all of its expectations. Looping: a single-graded glass of children staying with the same teacher for two or more years. Literacy education- teaching that focuses on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Emergent literacy is used to explain and describe the process of how children interact with books and writing.
