Background: august 1914: hitler joined bavarian army and german cause during wwi, mein kampf is where he wrote like a reflection on his experiences during wwi. He wrote this while he was in prison. November 1923: failed to try to overthrow the weimar republic. The text: saying that everyone wanted wwi to happen. People were willing to fight for it. There was a lot of enthusiasm for change. As he grew up, he would sing the national anthem and honor the country and all that but he wasn"t really feeling that he was enthusiastic about the nation. He made himself a promise that if a war started, he would stop his studies and then he would join the army so that he could prove his enthusiasm. And so he joined the army with the start of wwi. It seemed to him like it was honorable. For him, he was very proud of it.
