Most of this textbook focuses on north america planning with some examples from other countries. Similar problems exist in different parts of the world, not least bc the same technologies and modes of dev are spreading everywhere. Our development crisis is one of environmental damage, leading to phenomena such as global warming, depletion and loss of species. Misguided urbanization- fragmented landscape of subdivisions, freeways, malls, commercial strips, and office parks that cover land.
