Foundation developed a high-spped communications network (nsfnet: designed to link university research computer centers around the country and encourage private invenst in the net. In the mid-1980s fiber-optic cable became the standard for transmitting communication data speedily. Html- the written code that creates web pages and links, is a language that all computers can read, so computers with different operating systems, such as windows or macintosh, can communicate easily.
