Document Summary

Kinesthetic and light touch information from lower body. Mediates information from cerebrum to cerebellum via inferior cerebral peduncle. Motor nucleus for velum, pharynx, larynx muscles in conjunction with dorsal motor nucleus of x. Serve as input for position and movement of body in space. Motor innervation of sublingual, parotid, submandibular glands, lacrimal glands, mucous membranes of oral and nasal cavity: tracts of the medulla, tract vs. nucleus, tracts: bundle of axons. Medial lemniscus: fibers still carrying information, have not synapsed yet. Proprioception, trunk and lower limbs to cerebellum via inferior cerebellar peduncle. Proprioceptive information to cerebellum via superior cerebellar peduncle. Touch, pain, thermal to ventral posteromedial nucleus of the thalamus. From sensory nucleus of trigeminal to thalamus (ventral posteromedial nucleus) Conveys somatic (touch, vibration, pain) sensation from limbs to nucleus gracillin. Fasciculus cuneatus conveys somatic (touch, vibration, pain) and proprioception from cervical to upper thorax regions to nucleus cuneatus. Point at which corticospinal tract fibers cross midline.
