Document Summary

7:18 pm: verb review, the verbs conduire and mettre are irregular in the present indicative tense. There are three types of articles in french: definite, indefinite, and partitive. These have the equivalent meaning in english of the, a/an, and some. De la: definite article, definitive articles precede nouns that are used in a very specific sense. This is similar to english usage: definite articles also precede nouns used in a general sense. Indefinite articles are used before the names of indeterminate people and things, much the same way as in english: when the verb is negative, the indefinite article is replaced by de. The definite article is added, however, if the noun is specific. Leur: there are three main rules that govern the use of direct and indirect object pronouns in french, the pronouns precedes the verb of which it is the object, unless the verb is an affirmative imperative.
