Preschool children can: form stable concepts: they have begun to reason, but their thinking is flawed by egocentrism and magical belief system. Piaget proposed that the concrete operational stage lasts from approximately 7 to 11 years. Children can perform concrete operations and they can reason logically as long as they can apply their reasoning to specific or concrete examples. Concrete operations are operations that are applied to real, concrete objects. Concrete operations allow the child to consider several characteristics rather than to focus on a single property of an object. The concrete operational child coordinates information about both dimensions. One important skill is the ability to classify or divide things into different sets or subsets and to consider their interrelationships.
