Different mutations occur, natural selection and genetic drift occur and alter allele frequencies: evidence of allopatric speciation. 30 species of snapping shrimp live off of the isthmus of panama, the land bridge that connects north and south america. 15 live on atlantic side and 15 live on the pacific side. Before the land bridge formed, gene flow could occur. Evidence shows that sister species lived separated by the land bridge, indicating that they were separated by the land bridge.
