In chapter one, part two entitled genealogy and character of global pentecostalism , Kalu introduces the complaint that pentecostalism is too white for its african and latin. These areas of the world are converting to pentecostalism more quickly and more devoutly than any other denomination of christianity. Worldwide pentecostalism is imagined as the enchanted cultural version of globalization, or becomes the religious dimension of the cultural hegemony emanating from the north atlantic (11). He negatively connotes that pentecostalism creates increased contact with the anglo- This books heavily (and exclusively) attacks pentecostalism as a patron of the globalizing west. In my opinion, proselytizing christianity almost exclusively has its roots in the anglo-american and anglo-european worlds. It seems extreme that he would take such issue with this specific denomination of christianity rather than christian missions as a whole. I like, in chapter 2, when she talks about christianity taking different forms in different cultures.
