Document Summary

Bicep has 2 heads: one comes over shoulder, the other attaches to corocoid. Tendon of biceps is where biceps attaches to elbow. Bicipital aponeurosis: a band of tendon that attaches to elbow. Muscles of arm, forearm are compartmentalized (anterior, posterior) A band of fascia separate the posterior and anterior compartments. Muscles of the hand only in anterior part. Generally muscles in one compartment have common innervation and common function. This means they are evolutionarily no longer required. Helps in tree climbing brachialis (elbow flexors) (deeper than biceps) Distally the three heads merge into one tendon that attaches to the olecranon process. Anterior muscles are flexors and attach to medial epicondyle (the common flexor origin) Posterior muscles are extensors and attach to lateral epicondyle. Anterior compartment muscles: wrist and finger flexors muscles in 3 layers: superficial, intermediate, deep. Pulls skin down from palm of hand to reveal claws.
