This reading is available electronically - click here to access it. This unit will introduce you to the foundations of english that are relevant in primary school and early learning context. To successfully complete the unit you will need to meet the 3 intended learning outcomes: identify and justify stages of literacy development, analyse and interpret features of children"s writing, communicate in appropriate academic writing. At1 provides opportunity to meet 1 and 3. At2 provides opportunity to meet 2 and 3. Exam provides opportunity to meet 1, 2 and 3. Module 1; all about how we become literate and the importance of english in a functional society. Module 2; the "nitty gritty" of what makes up our language- focusing on grammar.
