Dc prr recognizes ag by pamp/ activation of t cells. Endocytose ag/ t cells present ag on mhcii. Infection cleared by: ab, td m, cd8+ +ve = abtcr needs to interact with self-mhc (that presents ag) appropriately. Medulla: -ve = abtcr that recognize self mhc strongly. Aire is an autoimmune regulator gene that present self ag in thymus medulla for t cell to recognize. This gene ensures non-thymic secretions are not released. For e. g. insulin is not expressed in thymus. Otherwise, t cells would recognize insulin as an ag and will subsequently digest insulin as if its non-self.
