Skinner believed self-control to be a choice between conflicting outcomes: facilitated by emitting a controlling response (what you do) that alters the probability of a controlled response (bad behavior) It"s a good to sta(cid:373)p i(cid:374: self-punishment: define some kind of punishment for not doing something, could be very effective but has to be very discipline and feel guilty. One way to make effective: tell someone else to check you actually punish yourself. Immediate vs. delayed outcomes challenge our decisions: llr (larger later reward) and ssr (smaller sooner reward, self-control: choose llr over ssr. Impulsiveness: choose ssr over llr, opposite of self-control: temporal issue with self-control: immediate consequences are very powerful over delayed one.
