We use a lot of animals to examine models of the brain. Most animals have the same genetics of their brains. Human brains are more complex because there are a lot more cells. Also unconscious things: regulating breathing, heart rate, balance: senses information from environment (brain often ignores certain things to focus on. Central nervous system (cns): consists of brain and spinal cord. Peripheral nervous systems (pns): nerve bres that transmit signals between the cns and organs in other parts of the body. Ventral root carries information in to the nervous system (at the front of spinal cord) Dorsal carried information out of the n. s (located at the back of spinal cord) Grey matter contains cell bodies of efferent and afferent neurons.
