During cambrian explosion many meteorites hit earth and caused mass extinctions (huge diversity) Silurian: 443-417mya, relatively stable climate, glaciers largely melted, significant new vertebrates and plants, many new fish and coral reefs appeared, large colonization by terrestrial plants and animals. Required adaptions to drying out: spiders and centipedes, earliest vascular plants. Devonian(age of fish: 417-354 mya, generally dry across north but southern hemisphere mostly covered by cool, temperate oceans, major increase in number of terrestrial species, ferns, horsetails, and seed plants(gymnosperms) emerged. Invertebrates flourish in the ocean: age of fishes, near end, prolonged series of extinctions eliminated many marine species. Carboniferous(dr hunter favvvvvv)sir david attenborough: 354-290 mya, rich coal deposits forms, cooler, land covered by forested swamps, plants and animals further diversified. Very large plants and trees prevalent (not like ours today) Huge insects because of huge trees making oxygen. Amniotic egg appeared reptiles (left the aquatic environment)
