School rules: academic policies, harassment policies, dress code policies. How bodies are regulated, trained, made docile. Threat of perpetual surveillance creates good behaviour. We act as though we are being watched. Bio power: power over bodies to ensure healthy, strong population: Subjected and practiced student bodies (p. 445) Common rules of dress: no winter jackets, non-religious headgear, hoods, beachwear or other. Common rules of dress: no ripped/torn clothing, clothing promoting hate or alcohol/drugs, no jewelry that could be a weapon, extreme subcultural styles. Line between celebrating diversity and instilling a shared ethos.
