Child labour became a burning global social issue in the 1990s: realization of children working overseas for garments, and other materials, i. e. Apple sources from factories in china that use child labour. Many products we use in the west are made of child labour. Malaysia, thailand, asia, bangladesh, pakistan and etc. use child labour: their economies are in transition, and economizing. International media and technology began to alert us to the sordid aspects of globalization: circumstances of children taking part in child labour. Child labour in relation to globalization: when products are accepted from abroad, we have to understand how these products are made; prior to this notion, we used to produce our own products in our country. Saving working children has become an international effort: i. e. Nike using child labour (south asia) and reebok combatting child labour. The international labour organization (ilo: pursuing policies that address child labour, and protect their welfare, convention 138.
