Think about the different causes of creation in biblical and greek cosmology. Essay open for submissions as of noon oct. 3rd but due on october 7th. First quiz 10 min to take quiz| monday september 26 @12:00 until wednesday september 28. A student of freud- they disagreed on how myth worked. Freud: myths tell you something about the human mind and yourself. Jung: myths help build up the human mind individually and collectively. Carl is very platonic thought where freud is aristotle. They are the building blocks of individual subconciousnesses. This was very positive, self-affirming | jung loved this while freud hated it. Structuralism: myths are based on the structure of the human mind. Bipolar opposites: the basis of how people think (eg. raw vs cooked) Believes mind is made up of basic yes or no questions that eventually form human mind. Jung and strauss believed that all humans think the same way.
