Kohl talks about the need for creative maladjustment in the classroom and anywhere else that student" intelligence, dignity or integrity are compromised by a teacher, an institution, or a larger social mindset. Sometimes people don"t learn well because of psychological reasons. These are studied developmental psychology, cognitive psychology (you will be exposed to lots of psychology) Because: sometimes certain kinds of knowledge may seem to take our power away. There are actually very valid reasons why people refuse to learn something. I didn"t learn because i had acquired certain beliefs: doing well meant conformity, the loss of identity and your sense of selfhood (doing well is basic, the only reason to learn was to get rich. I rejected materialism and greed, so therefore could see no motivation to bother.
