Document Summary

What is a good book: taken & adapted from children"s literature briefly eds. If you were going to recommend a book you follow a criteria of what people think is good. People think a book is good because they like it the relate to it, enjoy it etc Wind in the willows many students liked it but they did not really understand it. Two definitions: quality & taste (don"t just focus on if you like it, think about the quality) The audience might like something that may not actually be of good quality. Think of fifth graders who would be reading the books in this course and how they would feel about it. Books that show pull you in because they can let you think and interpret for yourself. You want details, you don"t want to just hear things and go with it. Pull the reader into the work to make the work of quality you interpret by yourself.
