The materialistic world is on the bottom for plato (vulgar) especially the body where it is associated with loss of the self. Love has one essence expressible in a definition for plato. Only one path to happiness according to plato philosophy forms and ideas if you want to fulfill yourself as a human being you want to pursue the forms. Happiness in the 21 century: doing what you want. For plato, that would be the complete opposite of happiness. They are immaterial but they exist somewhere that is not a material place. God paints the world looks at these essences. For plato, he creates a world that is not finish but in a state of becoming.
