Not usually mentioned, we don"t realize how important it is. Environmental pollutants contribute to infectious and chronic diseases. Ingesting food, water or dust that is polluted. Inhaling air contaminated with toxins (e. g. second hand smoke, factories) Coming into contact with polluted water, soil, objects. Technological advances increases our ability to affect, control, damage the environment. Contribute to rapid population growth, and thus greater consumption of and competition for natural resources. The world population is rapidly expanding this expansion is putting huge stress on the environment. The growth was slower before, and its super fast now (first billion took 123 years, from 6 to 7 billion took only 12 years) How many people the world can support is limited by: Rely on trees, soil, water for sustenance - to live. Growing populations put strain on these resources - e. g. tress get cut, water gets used, etc.
