Hlsc lecture #11 week 11: november, 26th, 2015. Which age groups most likely to experience unintentional injury: Poor mental health, conduct disorders, lack of social & emotional responsiveness. Canada"s crime rate has steadily declined for 2 decades, and is now at lowest level since 1973. Crime includes: fraud, extortion, break and enter, vandalism & violent crime. Violent crime: robbery, sexual assault, robbery, assault with a weapon. Homicides: 505 in 2013 (vs 467 in 2012) (1. 44 victims per 100,000 population; lowest since 1966) Attempted murders: 642 in 2013 (vs 665 in 2012) Of all age/gender groups, young men 18-24 are the most likely to be victims of homicide and the perpetrators of homicide. Hate crime in canada: stats canada 2010 report. Tracking of police-reported hate crimes began in 2006. Police-reported data likely undercount hate crimes because many incidents (up to 2/3) are not necessarily reported to police. Police services reported 1,041 hate crimes in 2010.
