Doh across lifespan, health is inluenced by key determinents such as educaion, income, employment, social status, geneics. Transiioning from adolescence to adulthood poses speciic challenges: many mental health problems become mental health illnesses during late adolescence/early adulthood. A state of well-being, in which an individual realizes their own abiliies, can cope with normal stresses of live, can work producively, is able to contribute to their community. A condiion that meets dsm-5 (manual lising mental illness, deiniions and how they"re diagnosed) diagnosic criteria for mental or substance abuse disorders, this includes presence of both signiicant levels of symptomology and important in funcioning. Mental health problems are diiculies that may be early sighs of symptoms of mental (or behavioural/emoional) disorders but are not frequent/severe enough to meet diagnosic criteria. 3 things that show we are mentally healthy. Engaging in producive aciviies, having fulilling relaionships, able to adapt/change/cope. Thinking (trouble atenion/concentraing), feeling (anxiety/sadness/irritability/loss of pleasure), behaving (poor eaing/sleeping/hygiene/impaired funcioning)
