Culture shock can be described as the stressful transitional period when individuals move from a familiar environment into an unfamiliar one . Arises out of distance from the reality you expect and the reality you experience. Possible to have culture shock/shift in canada: different diversity. Want to understand & sort out what is around us & all over the world. Ticks suck the life out of you (blood: just like the miniature differences in culture can greatly affect you. Not the issue of not knowing but what arises from not knowing: creates anxiety when we don"t know. Creates a state when our emotional state affects our capacity. If we expect is met, it is a successful culture/relationship. If it over-met, its positive & if its under-met, its negative. Tourist: one who visits another culture or country for entertainment or relaxation for a limited time and has no expectations to stay, doesn"t experience culture.
