Rene descartes was born on march 31st, 1596. People didn"t think he would live a very long life as a result of his sickness when he was young. Applied a mathematical method to philosophy in order to make philosophy into a science. At the age of 20 descartes graduated with a degree of law and then became an unpaid volunteer in the dutch army. On november 10th, 1619, while he was sitting beside a stove descartes meditated. These six meditations were eventually published in 1641. While in holland he moved 18 times in order to keep his address a secret. His maid gave birth to their daughter, but then she married another man. Descartes believed that one should spend just a few hours a day in use of your imagination, a few hours daydreaming, and only a few hours each year for understanding. The rest of your time you should be relaxing your mind.
