The key: every individual can be asked if he represent either the ascending or the descending line of life. If the person represents the ascending his life is extraordinary. If the person represents the descending his life is worth little. Ascending life: life-affirming, yes-sayers, higher types, noble, masters, healthy, strong, commanders. Goethe was a scientist and diplomat; he was a genuine renaissance man. He was the most ideal human being in twilight. Descending life: life-denying, no-sayers, lower types, slaves, weak, lambs, obey, poverty of life. The soul is nothing more than the body. Values and beliefs are they ascending or descending. The problem of the role of reason. When being rationale is at the expense of the extinct. No genuine philosopher ever got married and socrates got marries to prove a point. There is so much pain and hardship in life.
