Three shapes of the spirit: stoicism, skepticism, unhappy consciousness. How we move from the master-slave dialectic to these. In the labour of the slave, he has realized he can actually do stuff, i can work on the object and negate it, i can transform any natural resources i am given. If the weather is bad i can build a shelter, the slave realizes his own power of negating. Fear plays an important role for the slave, the bondsmen own negativity becomes an object. He realizes the same capacity for negation is within him. Workering for oneself you never have the sense that fear from working for another our freedom is a form of servitude. The object is an undivided unity, a movement within myself. A kind of opposition is set up, where it becomes aware it is a thinking being, in opposition to the object.
