Creates associations with things in memory to make sense of perceptions, form impresssions, intentions, wants , and feelings. It"s major flaws: -it does not always realize when its made a mistake. It sometimes jumps to conclusions in an effort to be efficient. Requires substantial attention for activites that are hard work" (associated with feelings of choice, concentration, and agency). Works on information from system 1 to orm explicit beliefs, manage uncertainty, make deliberate choices. Its major flaws are: it does not alywas realize when it has made a mistake; it"s lazy, and will not expend more effort than is necessary. The terms syste, 1" and system 2" do not refer to actual things, nore do they" live in any one specific part of the brain (and they don"t look like gal gadot either) They"re a useful shorthand for different types of psychological processes that we"re going are going to be gone over thoughout the semester.
