Social reproduction- the necessary activities that guarantee that day-to-day and generational reproduction and survival of the population. Domestic labour- the activities required to maintain a home and care for the people who live in it. Role strain- stress that results when someone does not have sufficient resources to play a role or roles. Ex: having children at home because you have to work and having someone else care for them. Second shift- the domestic labour performed by employed women at home after finishing their paid workdays.
