Secondary audience: asked to comment on ur message/ implement ideas after they"ve been approved ex) lawyers and researchers. Gatekeeping: has the power to stop your message before it gets to primary audience ex) supervisor or executive assist. Watchdog: political, social or economic power- pays close attention to communication between you and primary source ex) media, board of directors. Successful messages anticipate and meet the needs of the audience. Think tank: group of people usually experts- who work together to provide advice. When ppl know how they"ll benefit, they"re more likely to pay attention and respond to your message. Successful communicators analyze, identify and meet the audience"s needs. Audience interprets communication symbols such as words, tone, volume, weight, height, stance, etc .
