Column chart: show actual numbers rather than percentages & displays data comparisons vertically in columns. Most effective choice when limited to small number of categories (<7) Plot area: graphical representation of values in data series. Chart area: entire chart & all of its elements. Add 3d effect: emphasize a particular set of data. Multiple data series chart: compares two or more sets of data. Clustered column chart: groups similar data in columns & makes visual comparison easier totals for each software category in differently colored column.
