Over one million work related injuries - over 300,000 serious enough that the worker misses a day of work. Over 12 billion dollars paid out to injured workers and their families. The employer has to have additional training, making sure things are properly labeled, to avoid injuries. If not, the employer is at fault if you get hurt or die. Provincial e. g. , act respecting occupational health and safety (quebec) Employees and employers (including supervisors) have a legal obligation to maintain a safe and healthy workplace. There are minimum requirements, but organizations can do more! Companies do have a stake to make sure they provide what is required. Cut, fracture, sprain, or amputation resulting from a workplace accident or from an exposure involving an accident in the work environment. Abnormal condition or disorder caused by exposure to environmental factors associated with employment (industrial disease) Disease resulting from exposure relating to a particular process, trade or occupation in industry.
