THEO 333 Lecture Notes - Lecture 32: Lisbon Cathedral, Bilocation, Catharism
Document Summary
Santo antonio, still in life, was recognized as a great miracle worker. From holy matchmaker to restorer of the disappeared, passing through liberator from the temptations of the devil, as the work "little flowers of saint anthony" tells us. Among his miracles, it stands out that of converting sinners and heretics with his preaching, especially in the south of france, during the cathar heresy. In lisbon we find some places linked to the miraculous intercession of saint anthony. Next to the lisbon cathedral stands the church of san juan de la plaza. According to tradition, in this place his father had a chapel built, under the patronage of san juan degollado, in gratitude for a miracle that saved him from the murder charge. Apparently, a young man was killed near the home of mart n de bulhoes (his father). The murderers secretly buried the body in the garden of their home.
